Hero Guide: Kagura - Onmyouji Master
This guide is to show you simple explanations of how to use Kagura.
First step to learn is to learn how her spells work.
Second step is to learn the learning order.
Third step is to learn her combos.
Fourth step is to learn her recommended gears.



Short explanations of Kagura's skills.
Kagura has six skills in sum. She throws her umbrella and it stays on its position and then another skill can be casted.

Skill: Passive


Yin Yang Gathering

When Kagura and her umbrella becomes one (after being separated, specifically by using first or second blue skill[with umbrella].) , generates a shield that absorbs: 300 (+ [level and items based] ) damage and stunning and slowing enemies down. This effect has a 4.5 seconds cooldown.
When Kagura's distance is too far away from the umbrella, the umbrella automatically comes back to Kagura.

1st Skill: Active 1

When Kagura has her umbrella on her hands, she throws the umbrella to the target and dealing 330 magic damage to the enemies along the way and slowing them 60%.
After casting this skill, will deal damage to enemies to the specified direction and target along the way, then, the umbrella will stop moving and stay at the targeted location. Therefore, Rasho Umbrella Flee: Active 2 and Yin Yang Overturn: Active 2 can be cast immediately, while Seimei Umbrella Open: Active 2 will cooldown and cannot be casted for a few seconds.
When the umbrella is put inside the bush, it will reveal hiding enemies in the bush. Kagura's umbrella serves as a spy for her and her allies.

1st Skill: Active 2

Seimei Umbrella Open
When Kagura and her umbrella are separated, will move the umbrella to the targeted location and dealing 330 magic damage to the enemies along the way and slowing them 60%.
When Yin Yang Overturn: Active 2 is casted, resets this skill's cooldown and may be casted again.
When an enemy is near the umbrella, casting this skill and targeting it to the enemy makes the umbrella deal damage faster than throwing it from the hero.
When the umbrella is put inside the bush, it will reveal hiding enemies in the bush. Kagura's umbrella serves as a spy for her and her allies.

2nd Skill: Active 1

Rasho Umbrella Flee
When Kagura has her umbrella on her hands, she will move to a specified direction and leave the umbrella behind, also removing debuffs like being slowed, stunned, and immobilized.
This skill is Kagura's way of escaping grapples of enemies when caught. Do not use this to chase enemies because it will leave the umbrella behind (her umbrella is her damage weapon so it is useless to jump towards an enemy without the umbrella.) It will take a while before the umbrella reaches the specified target after jumping.


2nd Skill: Active 2

Rasho Umbrella Flee
When Kagura and her umbrella is separated, using this skill will make Kagura teleport to the umbrella and take it (triggers Yin Yang Gathering), dealing 205 magical damage to enemies near the umbrella, stunning and slowing them.
When ambushing enemies, throw the umbrella (1st Skill: Active 1) to the enemy then cast this skill to instantly teleport to their location and stun them for a short time. This also deals small amount of damage. Unlike 2nd skill: Active 1, this teleports to the umbrella immediately but does not remove debuffs.
You can also use this to instantly escape the enemies eyes when the umbrella is put behind and far from enemies.

Yin Yang Overturn
When Kagura has her umbrella with her, casting this skill will deal 250 magic damage and will knock back and push nearby enemies, and slowing them down.
When teleporting to the enemies using the umbrella, move from the opposite direction where your allies are then cast this skill to push them back to your allies.

3rd Skill: Active 2
PEAK OF DAMAGE

Yin Yang Overturn
When Kagura and her umbrella is separated, casting this skill will release the peak of Kagura's damage. Deals damage to nearby enemies and creates links to nearby enemy heroes. Meanwhile, when an enemy hero is linked to the umbrella, their movement speed drops, and when they don't escape or break the link for 3 seconds, they will be pulled to the position of the umbrella and will take magic damage.
PEAK IMPORTANT: THIS SKILL WILL RESET THE COOLDOWN FOR SEIMEI UMBRELLA OPEN
(1st Skill: Active 2)
The link will not break when all other skills are casted, for example: After casting this skill, cast 1st Skill: Active 2. The umbrella will move but the link will not disappear.
Cast 2nd Skill: Active 2. Kagura will teleport to the umbrella and take it, and therefore, Kagura and her umbrella becomes one, the enemies are still linked to the umbrella on which means they are linked to Kagura because she holds her umbrella.
Cast 3rd Skill: Active 1. Will push nearby enemies and slow them, the link will not break unless the enemy wanders too far from the umbrella/Kagura.
When enemy's health is already low enough and he is still linked to the umbrella, wait for the 3 second timer and he will be pulled to the umbrella and take damage.

Kagura's damage must be prioritized. Her second skill is only teleport and escape, which can be used now once or later or maybe even not when not being grappled in the whole game. Her second skill is used once. Prioritize Seimei Umbrella Open and Yin Yang Overturn in order to maximize the damage can be dealt.

Skill Combos
With umbrella

This is the simplest combo Kagura has. She will be like: Shogiyo Bogyo! Shogiyo Bogyo!
Execute this combo as fast as your finger can, then the enemy will stagger from the damage dealt, unless it dealt less damage. By the Yin Yang Gathering, it meant to walk to the umbrella. Remember to hit your enemy with all these skills.

Teleport to your enemy then move a bit to push them to a specific direction. The 4th one is unnecessary when facing one enemy, but if it is a clash,
it is recommended to jump to a safer place then proceed to next skill -> Seimei Umbrella Open - Active 1 to enemy then do the first combo: then walk to the umbrella to take it and trigger Yin Yang Gathering.

Step 1: Throw the umbrella to the enemy's position or beyond the enemy's position.

You must be positioned at the back of the enemy to push them to the turret. Walk to it if necessary.

Note: I only got these from guides, but these are the top 2 gear sets I use on which it brought me to many victories.

Arcane Boots
+40 Movement Speed
+15 Magic Penetration
Magic Penetration
Magic Penetration refers to a ratio on how much will the spell ignore the target's defense or magic resistance.
Boots will make your hero run faster and is essential when chasing enemies or running away from them.

Enchanted Talisman
+50 Magic Power
+250 HP
+25 Mana Regeneration
+20% CD Reduction
Unique-Passive Mana Spring:
Regens the hero's mana 10% every 10 seconds.
This is useful for mana durability, you will be able to cast more spells with more mana and faster mana regeneration. Also has 20% Cooldown Reduction on which skills will require less time to be casted again.
Regen 100% of mana after 1 minute and 40 seconds.
Concentrated Energy
+70 Magic Power
+700 HP
+30% Spell Vamp
Spell Vampire:
Equivalent to lifesteal, Spell Vamp regens life when spells cause damage to the enemy.
The more damage you deal, the more HP you regen. This is a spell's lifesteal, will lifesteal when using skills or spells, but will not regen when using basic attacks.
When spells cause damage, regens 30% of the damage for the spellcaster.
Kagura's skills have no targets limit. As long as there are enemies around they will be damaged. So cast her spells to an area where there are many minions or heroes or both to gain larger life.

Holy Crystal
+25% Magic Power
+90 Magic Power
UNIQUE PASSIVE EXTERMINATE
After a skill hits a target, magic attack will immediately increase 15%.
The next skill damage will terminate this effect. This effect can last up to 3s with a built-in cooldown time of 10s.
The magic bonus is percent based, so the more magic power you have, the more bonus you get. This item is to amplify Kagura's magic power. Having other items that improve magic power will raise her Magic power dramatically.
Combine with Blood Wings, which has +170 magic power and gains 2 HP every 1 magic power.

Blood Wings
+150 Magic Power
+150 HP
Unique Passive Nirvana:
Adds 2pts of HP for every 1 magic power added.
This gives a large amount of magic power and some HP.
This amplifies magic power for most mages and you can have more than one of this item.
The bonus to HP adds more life to Kagura, making her more durable.

Devil Tears

+40% Magic Penetration
Magic Penetration
Magic Penetration refers to a ratio on how much will the spell ignore the target's defense or magic resistance.
Unique:
+30% Magic Penetration when hero's HP is at least 70%.
This is to maximize your damage with Kagura. Magic Penetration will ignore target's magic resistance and deal almost true damage to them. Whenever Kagura has 70%+ HP, her Magic Penetration is raised to 70% making her damage almost like true damage to the enemies. Recommended if the enemy has balanced offense and defense gear set, or the opponent is a tank.
Recommended to stay at 100%-80% health when clashing.

UNIQUE PASSIVE AVARICE
Get an extra 30% experience when jungling. Regain 4% of maximum health and 10% mana after slaying a monster.
UNIQUE PASSIVE GORGE
Slaying jungle monsters increases one's physical and magic defense 3. Stacks up tp 10 times.
UNIQUE PASSIVE
Makes the battle spell 'Retribution' applicable to heroes: Reduces target's 70% of movement speed (This effect will decay within 3seconds) and reduces target's magic resistance. Buying other advanced jungle gear will disable this effect.
Proceed to the 2nd tier jungling item. Beast Killer is recommended for defense.

Magic Shoes
+40 Movement Speed
+10% CD Reduction
CD Reduction
CD Reduction (Cooldown Reduction) Reduces the cooldown time for your skills. Reduces the time required to cast your skills again.
Boots will make your hero run faster and is essential when chasing enemies or running away from them.

Clock of Destiny
+60 Magic Power
+615 HP
+600 Mana
Unique Passive Time:
Adds 30 HP and 5 magic attack every 30s. Up to 10 times
Unique Passive Reincarnate:
If time is fully stacked, then the hero will receive 5% magic attack and 300 mana.
Complete this gear at the beginning of the game to fully stack it earlier.

Concentrated Energy
+70 Magic Power
+700 HP
+30% Spell Vamp

+75 Magic Power
+30 Mana Regen
Unique Passive Resonate:
Every 6 seconds your next damaging magical ability will proc, maximum of 3 enemies will be hurt by 150% magic power damage.
First three enemies will be hit by 150% magic power, means if your magic power is at 450: 450 * 1.5 = 675. Means you will deal a lot more damage to the enemy with this.
Remember that it only works every 6 seconds and only hits the first three enemies.

Flicker

Flicker is another way to instantly teleport to a specified direction. Kagura can use Flicker in case her second skill is still on cooldown. And she can use this in various other ways.

Retribution

Kagura is a mage, but she can farm. With the help of the item Hunter's Knife and battle spell Retribution, she can farm faster and easier and then level up faster.

Magic Emblem Set
Obviously, this is the recommended set for mages.


Other tips:
*When Kagura has low health and you still don't have your Concentrated Energy item. It is recommended to recall than using regen because enemies will target you and slay you faster.

*Kagura can use her 2nd Skill: Active 1 to get past obstacles

*Put or reserve her umbrella to a bush and hide instantly from an enemy.

This is also useful when attacking a turret. Reserve your umbrella at a bush and then teleport to it when an enemy comes to defend their turret.

*When you run out of mana at the beginning of the game, recall.




Heroes that go well with Kagura:
Most heroes can go well with Kagura.

Roger Layla Zilong Alucard Hayabusa Lancelot Karina Franco Minotaur Hilda

... and many other more.
Hayabusa
Hayabusa is Kagura's childhood playmate, and they also make a good team. First attacker will be the assassin to slow the enemy down, then when Hayabusa casts his 3rd skill, Kagura can assist to deal damage to the enemy and end it.

Hero tips
Kagura can escape from heroes that has stun, pull, and immobilize skills.

Mainly:

Zilong



These three heroes are Kagura can counter using her second skill. When she is caught, she can simply escape from the grapple and avoid taking damage then counter damage the enemy.



The other heroes she can counter are:

Layla
Kagura can deal an amount of Killing damage to Layla as she has low defense, unless Layla has balanced offense and defense gear set. Kagura can fastly kill Layla when doing her combo. But if Layla survives, she will deal large damage to Kagura and lifesteal.

If Layla does not run away with low health, finish her before she can attack you and lifesteal. Kagura can also escape Layla's slow skill. And when Kagura teleports to Layla (throwing her umbrella to Layla then teleport to it), Layla's passive is neutralized (increase damage when at long range), as she will attack Kagura at a melee range.

In case Layla countered you, use flicker to escape.
In case Layla will escape and all skills are in cooldown, use retribution (2nd tier jungle item) to slow her down for 3 seconds.



Miya

The same as Layla, do not let Miya attack you many times as she has large damage at the climax of the game. But unlike Layla, her damage does not increase with range, but her attack speed increases as she attacks.

But since Miya also has low defense level, Kagura can deal a killing damage to Miya.

When Miya's second freezes Kagura, use her second skill (Rasho Umbrella Flee) to escape from being frozen and counter Miya.





Heroes that counter Kagura:

If there are heroes Kagura can counter, there are also heroes that counter Kagura.


Harley

Basically, Harley can counter Kagura because he can teleport then teleport back in his positions. Unlike Kagura that can only teleport once to her umbrella (because of the cooldown). But that does not mean Kagura cannot stand a chance against Harley. If Harley made his move first before Kagura, she will stagger and get low health before she can attack Harley. There are also cases that when Kagura threw her umbrella, Harley then used his 3rd Skill to Kagura, slowing her down and making her very vulnerable. Kagura can't use her 2nd Skill: Active 1 which is her jump that removes debuff when she doesn't have her umbrella. That's why be careful when fighting Harley.



Argus

Kagura has low defense, if she is attacked many times, she will stagger and die. Argus is an example of multiple hitter. He may counter-attack Kagura by using his 3rd skill, by this, whether you continue to attack or not, Argus will still approach and hit you. You may have to wait for Argus's skill to end or continuously attack him while he's immune to death and regen his HP. Meanwhile, when you wait for Argus's skill to end, he will attack you continuously. If you use your combo while Argus is in his 3rd skill, he will regen a bit of a health and when his skill ends, your spells might be in cooldown and you still have no score. Argus may grapple to Kagura and slow her down, so before attacking, make sure to escape first from Argus's 2nd skill (which slows).

When Argus casts his 3rd skill and you are fighting him, try to find a bush to prevent him from attacking you and then chase him if he runs away. Then, if his 3rd skill ends, try to attack him with you umbrella to slay him.

Argus usually casts his 3rd skill when his HP drops like 20%. But he is not immune to damage when he casts his 3rd, he is only immune to death, and the damage converted to regen him is low. But still remember to reserve your spells for his skill's end.



Zilong

Kagura can counter Zilong and he can counter Kagura. If Kagura's combo does not slay Zilong, he may attack you back to lifesteal. Also, when running away, Kagura cannot run away because Zilong's 3rd skill speeds him up. So don't try to fight Zilong by yourself. Zilong can also escape using his 3rd skill, making him harder to slay. It is recommended to fight Zilong will allies, especially allies with stun, slow, pull, and immobilize skills.
