[Background Summary]
Karina belongs to a race called night elves. They are the exact opposite of the friendly moon elves. The night elves
are born killers and are assassins to other races. Of all the night elf assassins, Karina is a standout amongst them.

✦ This passive balances Karina’s melee-ness. As she is the only mage with melee range,
making her melee more threatening makes it fair. So don’t forget to take advantage
of it. Just make sure that when you use it to harass your lane, the exchange is worth it.

✦ This allows Karina to become immune to physical attacks, so make sure you use that

✦ When you are chasing a marksman or a fighter, use this skill but don’t attack them
yet. That way, their basic attacks will be useless and they will be discouraged to do
so and just keep running scared. Attack them every time your second skill is up.
But when you are chasing a mage or a healer, use this skill and hit them right away.
They have weak basic attack so you won’t really need to keep yourself immune, but
instead, you should just keep auto attacking them and slowing them down.

✦ When jungling, always use this skill just as the monster attacks you. That way, you
will be immune to a few of their attacks and you’d have more hp. This should be a

✦ When laning, use this skill to harass your opponent. But make sure that their skills
are on cooldown first.

✦ After turret diving, use this skill as you escape, so you will take reduced damage
from the turret.

✦ In general, this skill is best for escaping. It makes you immune to basic attacks and
gives you a huge movement speed increase. If you have good map awareness and
your team badly needs to push, you can use this to push and hide, over and over.

✦ This is Karina’s only AoE skill, this is pretty helpful when clearing a wave of minions
when you’re pushing or defending.

✦ When in a fight, just keep spamming this skill as it has a fast cooldown, especially
if you get a kill or an assist.

✦ Number one thing to remember is that you should use the Hero Locking method.
That way, you will be using this to the squishiest enemy and not their tank.

✦ Another thing is that you should set your targeting method to “Target Lowest HP
First”. That way, even if you don’t lock onto a hero, you will dash towards the
weakest hero in a team fight.

✦ Be careful not to tap this skill more than you intend to. If you are planning to just
dive to kill a hero and then escape, you wouldn’t want to accidentally dash towards
another hero with full HP surrounded by his teammates. That small mistake would
cost you your life.

✦ If you turret dived and killed someone with this skill, you may use it again to dash
to another enemy hero that is outside the turret's range, an enemy hero closer to
safety. Even if you don't kill that hero and your ult is now on a long cooldown, it's
still better than dying.

Skill Upgrading

Third Skill > First Skill > Second Skill

[Third Skill] - Leveling this up increases its damage and reduces the cooldown, allowing you to use it again faster, after a mistake.

[First Skill] - Leveling this up is very important as the reduced cooldown means you can spam it more when escaping and engaging.

[Second Skill] - This is your secondary spammable skill, it’s not as important as your first as it does not have any crowd control.


[Third > First > Second > Basic Attacks]
Your basic assassination combo.

[First > Second > Basic Attacks > (Repeat) > Third]
This will be your general combo when you are in a one-on-one fight.

Increases your chance to get a kill or an assist, reducing the cooldown of all your skills and making you more threatening.

Allows you to clear the jungle faster, resulting in higher or equal level as others, and faster and more efficient roaming.

[Damage and Sustain Build]

[Blood Wings]

This item adds tons of magic power making your skills more effective.
In addition, this adds 2 HP for every magic power you have, making
you not so squish even in early game.

[Magic Shoes]

Reduces your cooldown even more, allowing you to spam your skills
even if you are not getting any kills and simply just reducing their HP.

[Warrior Boots]

You will benefit a lot from this item as you will most likely be tanking minion
waves during laning, triggering this shoes passive that adds 15 armor pts.

[Astral Wand]

Greatly increases your skills because of the additional magic and penetration.
It also works well with your HP items as it gives more magic the higher your HP is.

[Eternal Scepter]

All in all this item adds 900+ HP, 900 Mana, and a lot of magic power for Karina.
The magic power it adds is based on percentage so it adds really high late game.

[Concentrated Energy]

This item adds a lot of HP and magic power. It's unique passive is +25% spell vamp.
Having this item along with your other HP items, will make you survive a lot longer.

[Magic Penetration Build]

[Arcane Boots]

The early boots will help you roam a lot faster and assassin heroes from every
lane, including their jungle. Your lack of magic items at start can be made up by
the boots' magic penetration.

[Calamity Scythe]
This item adds magic power, mana, and 10% cooldown reduction. Allowing you
to spam your skills even more. Your first will also be dealing 150% more damage.

[Astral Wand]

While its HP-related passive won't be as useful as with the previous build, the magic
penetration of this item is still so massive that you cannot just reject building it.

[Flame of Fury]

Another item that contributes to your magic penetration. And in addition to that,
this item will also burn the enemy by HP-percentage, allowing you to even kill tanks.

[Disaster Truncheon]

This item is pretty useful if an enemy mage is focusing on you making it hard for you
to join in. It also adds magic power and penetration, along with more CD reduction.


Your first five items should be enough when it comes to dealing damage, so you'd
want an item that gives you a second chance in case you made a mistake diving.

Karina doesn't really have any specific hero she synergize with. But in general,
she works best with initiators. Someone to dive in first and get all the enemies'
attention such as Tigreal, Akai, Minotaur, Yun Zhao, Chou, Franco, Alpha.

Karina can pretty much assassinate all non-tank heroes almost equally. The only
weakness that I've noticed so far is when the enemy heroes have Immortality.

If you dive in with your ult and "kill" them, it doesn't go on cooldown as they are
not really dead. They will respawn with armor, and you on the other hand, don't
have your ult anymore.

If you don't dive in and wait, you would be waiting really long. Because when they die,
you will wait for a second or two before they respawn, then when they respawn, they
will have armor. Your team would most likely be in trouble already if you have waited
for that long.


✦ Magic Assassin - I feel like this emblem was made specifically for Karina. It adds
magic and magic penetration, for the killing damage you desire. It also has cooldown
reduction and movement speed, for harassing and chasing purposes.

✦ Magic - Use this if you are a new player. This will give you decent damaging power,
and more HP. However, it lacks movement speed.

[Normal Games]

✦ Always go top, Karina really needs the blue buff so she can spam her skills. Kill the blue buff monster and the one near it.

✦ After that, if the enemy heroes are still not on the lane, check the jungle to see if they have low or half HP and see if you
can kill them. Otherwise, just defend your lane by clearing the minion wave.

✦ Your starting item should either be boots, for faster roaming early game and killing their jungler at the start; or Hunter’s
Knife, so you can get the blue buff and back to your lane faster. Just resell it later.

✦ During a team fight, do not dive in first. Hide in the brush and allow your initiator to dive first, and wait for the enemies
to use most of their skills, especially their CC’s. That’s when you join in.

✦ One common mistake that I notice with Karina users is that they dive in because they see they can kill one enemy hero,
even though the other four enemies have full health and have not used any of their CC yet. What usually happens is
Karina gets the kill, but gets killed by the other four in the process. That’s a pretty bad exchange. Karina, if just patient,
could kill even all of them. With that said, don’t be easily tempted just because one enemy has low HP. Plan accordingly,
and see if you can either escape after diving, or wipe at least half of them out.

✦ But don’t play too safe with Karina though, try to be good at estimating if you can survive a dive or not. Keep practicing.
Once you’ve mastered Karina, you’ll be assassinating heroes in front of their allies and still escape. Your objective as
Karina isn’t as simple as kill stealing heroes that can be killed by your allies anyway, your objective is to kill off the
enemies one by one even if they still have half HP or more.
Depending on your build, you can join earlier in a team fight to help your teammates deal damage to the opponents,
but only do that if you have HP build. Otherwise, play smart and keep your eyes open to see if you can burst and kill
an enemy with your combo.

[Brawl Mode]

✦ Getting Retribution spell in Brawl is not very useful. So get Execute. You will
be making use of it way more than any other spells.

✦ Your starting items should have some mana regen. While it may not seem useful
at first, you will be running out of mana once you turn level 4. Unless you've been
dying a lot, which is bad.

✦ Always hide in the brush or stand near your turret. This is an all-mid 5v5 match,
it will be very easy for your to get CC'ed and killed instantly. Let your teammates
deal the damage, and your role is to finish them off.

✦ At the start, hide in the brush and wait for a clash. Once you spot someone with
low HP, walk to them with your First, followed by your Second, then execute. Chances
are, the enemies are too busy focusing on your teammates, and you'd walk away
unscathed. Otherwise, use flicker to escape after getting your first blood.

✦ Your ult will be extremely useful in Brawl. So make sure you use it only when you
see one (better if more) low HP opponents. Don't use it to just dive and die quickly.
Don't be a hero.

✦ Don't be lazy to push, your First skill works on turret too. So hit it even at least
once if you have minions and only few enemies are defending the turret.

✦ Please remember that these are all my personal preference and strategy, while it works for me,
it is possible that a different one might be more effective to some of you. Thank you for reading!

The renowned Bloodaxe Orcs are the descendants of interbreedingbetween blood demons and other devils, and their custom of using arcane magicto infect the entire bodies of their enemies and animals with blood is atestament to this fact. They are bloodthirsty and war-loving, and the strongestamong them is named Balmond
Regens 4% of max HP each time he kills a minion. Regens 10%of max HP each time he kills a hero.
Comment: the passive skill give balmond tanking abilityadvantage in early game.
Soul Lock
Charges up to an enemy and deals 150/175/200/225/250/275 ptsof physical damage to enemies along the way. After hitting the target, he willstop and lower that enemy's movement speed by 60%/60%/60%/60%/60%/60%, lasting2.5/2.5/2.5/2.5/2.5/2.5s.
Comment: This skill can’t passthrough enemy so be carefullwhen use it as escape ability.
Cyclone Sweep
Rapidly swings axe at enemies in the area, dealing65/80/95/110/125/140 pts of physical damage with each attack.
Comment: The main AoE poke ability of balmond it worksreally well in early game.
Lethal Counter
Raises a giant axe, dealing 350/500/650 pts plus 20%/20%/20%of target's missing HP as true damage to enemies in a conical area in front ofthe hero and lowers enemy movement speed, lasting 2/2/2s.
Comment: be carefull of the “V” shape of the ultimate so aimprecisely.

Q: why this build didn’t use immortality?
A: since patch 1.78 immortality was a waste and just extradeath animation for tank

Night Assassin

Karina is a very great assassin and an OP one too
One that can Deal lots of heavy amount of damage
In the recent patch and updates .
With this guide i will help you understand how
Karina works with a little trick you can
Maximize the true damage your passive can deal

Combo Hit

After attacking a target twice in a row, the third attack will deal extra true damage equal to 8% of HP already lost by the enemy.


Karina enters a state of Elusiveness for 3 seconds, making her immune to basic attacks and raising movement speed 35%. Her next basic attack in this state will deal an extra 165 pts of physical damage and must crit strike.

Dance of Death

Brandishes double swords, dealing 260 pts of magic damage to surrounding enemies.

Shadow Rush

Makes 1 attacks in a row on a target, dealing 460 pts of magic damage to the target. If the enemy is killed within 5s, the cooldown time for this ability will end immediately. An assist will lower the cooldown for this skill 80%.


The trick goes like this . when you start of
To pvp anyone first try to hit them twice you will see a green circle below them first hit is half a circle the second hit is a full circle and the third one will deal extra true damage . it works with anything .

Use autoattack or 1st skill or 2nd skill or 3rd skill.
Or Execute when you the circle is full .
And it will deal extra damage . I suggest
Use the third skill after the circle is full then
Use 1st so that you can be immune and youll hit the enemy twice again building fully the circle then
Use 2nd skill to deal heavy damage and true damage

1 combo and 2nd combo that will surely work
Magic damage is the one that can deal lots of damage to an enemy because usually even tanks just build full physical armor and less if not none
Magic resistance.

This hero reminds me of League of Legends Katarina. One of the most popular hero that is very easy to use yet rewarding to get pentakill and MvP. From the mechanics I’ve learn in playing her, I want to share to you a guide on playing Karina and how can dominate the game using her.

+Cooldown reset skill
+Burst AoE damage
+Immunity buffs
+Hybrid of physical and magical damage output

-No Crowd control
-Melee unlike with most spell caster
-Low Mobility


Combo Hit – After attacking a target twice in a row, the third attack will deal extra true damage equal to %8 of Hp already lost by the enemy. (passive)

Elusiveness – Karina enters a state of Elusiveness for 3 seconds, making her immune to basic attacks and raising movement speed by 35%. Her next basic attack in this state will deal an extra 165 physical damage and a guaranteed critical strike.

Dance of Death – Brandishes double swords, dealing 260 magic damage to surrounding enemies.

Shadow Rush – Makes 1 attacks in a row on a target, dealing 460 magic damage to the target. If the enemy is killed within 5 seconds, the cooldown time for this ability will end immediately. An assist will lower the cooldown by 80%.

Item Build

Calamity Scythe – +70 Magic power / +400 mana / +10% Cooldown Reduction / Calamity : After using an ability, the next basic attack will carry an extra 150% magic damage. This effect has a 2 seconds cooldown time.

Magic Shoes – +40 Movement speed / 10% cooldown reduction. You need to improve your movement as soon as possible as she is low in mobility.

Frost – +75 Magic Power / +15 Mana Regen / +7% Movement Speed / Freeze : Skills that damage an enemy hero will carry a 10% slow down effect. This effect lasts 3 seconds and can stack up to 3 times. Due to Karina has no CC in her kit, you need this item that gives crowd control on every ability she cast against her target.

Guardian Relic – +90 Magic power / 25% magic power / Exterminate : After a skill hits a target, a magic attack will immediately increase 15%. The next skill damage will terminate this effect. This effect can last up to 3 seconds with a built-in cooldown time of 10 seconds. This item has everything you need to empower your magic damage.

Enchanted Talisman – +55 Magic Power / +400 Hp / +25 Mana Regen / +20% Cooldown Reduction / Mana Sprint : A kill or assist regens 20% of hero’s Mana within 5 seconds. You need more mana for ultimate reset. It only replenish your cooldown but not your mana. So if you don’t have enough mana you can’t still recast your ultimate once the cooldown had reset. This item will regen your mana by 20% every time you get a kill or assist which is perfect for your ultimate.

Immortality – +800 Hp / +40 magic resistance / Rebirth : resurrect in 2 seconds after dying and get 15% HP and a shield that can absorb damage equal to 40% max HP. Shield last for 3 seconds. 180 seconds cooldown. You need this as you are squishy and melee at the same time. You need to get closer to your target to let your burst hit them most. Because of that you need this item improves survival rate in teamfight.

Strategy Guide

You are assassin with burst damage from both physical and magic attack. The best way to engage using Karina is to wait for your tank to initiate and get their attention. You are lucky enough if you have Tigreal in your team as he can CC your opponent hardly so you can do your damage without a threat. Don’t rely too much in your damage and think that you can kill all enemies in a blink of an eye. No you not because as squishy as you, they can also kill you instantly. What are you going to do is to find a good chance where the enemy team already had cast most of their skills towards teammate and nothing left for them to dodge your attack.

When it comes in laning, it is difficult for Karina as she has no sustain and the fact that she is a melee. What you need to do is to let your support do the initiate and just wait for the moment you can throw your burst. You have also no CC until you have Frost so you can’t bully your laner until you have enough kills from roving.

Yes you are going to gank other lane to get kill. You need to feed your Karina so she will get stronger in the late game. Early or laning phase is somehow challenging for her. Just make sure to play with a good support or weak enemy laner too.

If you can surpass the early game, I’m pretty sure you can make it with easy quadra or penta kill in late game. Karina as all in kit that will let you get several kills easier especially with cooldown reset.

Combo hit - it is a passive skill that activates whenever you hit an enemy . auto attack or a skill .Every 3rd hit will deal true damage to the enemy

Elusiveness - Karina will become immune for a moment to any basic attack and speed up a bit

Dance of death - Karina will twirl her sword around dealing magic damage

Shadow rush - this is her ultimate skill where she will be hurled towards an enemy and instantly deal lots of damage . a kill or assist will reduce the cdr of this skill


Note : her passive is very important but keep it in mind that her 3rd skill ability to reduce its own when getting a kill is more important . it can be used to steal a kill that cant be reached by teammates or to help teammates pvping an enemy but is outnumbered by items or outdamaged .

1st : Lots of Hp
2nd : Penetration ( Magic , hurts a lot )
3rd : Lots of damage
4th : More Magic Penetration
5th : Cdr Reduction
6th : Heavy damage


Note that you can change the 5th item when its late game with immortality to survive in team fights.



Wait in clash dont be the one to initiate wait until theyre crowd controlled by your tank or one of them or most of them are severely injured .. Then go in with your 3rd skill and if that hero is not dead use 2nd or 1st to take less hit . then that will reduce the cooldown of your 3rd use that again and repeat this process until youve penta killed the enemy or something like that :lol .

The battle spell for this is Interference and the emblem is Magic Assassin for better performance .
